Unseen Beatles Photos Surface
No band have profited off of yesterday quite like the Beatles. (Mandatory Beatles pun, moving on.) The explosion of creativity that was the band lasted for a mere 8 years from 1962 to 1970. Since then the packaging and repackaging of every mop top move has been available to insatiable fans. This is why it is surprising whenever previously unseen material pops up.
Amateur Photographer has recently reported on a cache of all but forgotten promotional Beatles photos taken by the TV Times for The Music of Lennon and McCartney. The UK television special featured artists as well as the Beatles playing Lennon and McCartney tunes. It is cool as archival footage, but it’s not A Hard Days Night—or even Magical Mystery Tour. Or even Ringo’s Caveman.
The photos which Amateur Photographer recently featured are the efforts to create a cover shot, of which one shot was selected and the rest put in storage. 50 years unseen have made the photos remarkable. Circa 1965 Lennon and McCartney are poised to launch into a run of original material which has rarely been seen.
The images should be available for collectors shortly, stay tuned.
