Shakes Snake

Shakes Snake

Alabama Shakes Chicago Theatre

The Alabama Shakes recently dropped their second album Sound and Color which debuted at number 1 in the U.S. and Canada. In today’s no one pays market, that means the album sold 111 copies. (The last statement is more sarcasm than substantiated.) But it’s all relative right and #1 is a huge achievement.

Brittany Howard and the boys took the songs out for a spin in March when they launched a mini tour of the US. The third show of the tour brought their Voodoo magic to Chicago commemorated by the featured Alabama Shakes gig poster.

The piece was created for the A Shakes by Catharsis, a three person studio which produces nice eye-candy for a righteous roster of bands including Tame Impala and the Tune Yards. You can find Shakes snake at catharsisprintworks.com or at alabamashakes.com alongside other sweet limited edition pieces.

The Alabama Shakes are about to set off on tour again May 28, which should bring some other gig posters. As soon as anything crosses our eyeballs we’ll be glad to share.
