Jaunt film puts you on stage with Paul

Paul McCartney in virtual reality

It’s enough to make an aging Beatle fan throw her panties. A company called Jaunt is putting you on stage with Paul McCartney as he performs Live and Let Die. The performance is from Paul’s historic Candlestick Park gig, the last show to be played there, and offers 360 views with 3D stereo and immersive sound. Jaunt is a virtual reality start up that produces cinematic content for VR viewers. The McCartney performance can be downloaded for free to an Android device from Google Play. Then to stand in the wings as Paul muses about a heart being an open book, all you need is love….and a Google Cardboard VR viewer.

Right now the performance is only available on Android, but the Jaunt website has Oculus Rift and Gear VR versions coming soon. The success of this release should lead to performances of artists whose fans may actually know what a Google Cardboard is. That said, props to Sir Paul for continuing to be a pioneer. Reviews are saying the experience is pretty cool.
