Ed’s signature strum.
Martin LX1E Ed Sheeran
The biggest selling artist of 2014 was a busker, a one-man band, a ginger head no less. While the rise of EDM continues with bigger festivals and more wattage every year, the most popular artist of 2014 won the day (the year) with an acoustic. And a little one at that.
Martin must be ready to bust a string over the news. Back in 2013 they issued the signature LX1E Ed Sheeran for their up and coming signature artist. Anyone who has seen Sheeran play has noticed that he plays a smaller guitar. You either thought this or were under the impression that Sheeran is a giant. Which would be cool, but sadly he’s just a regular rock star.
Martin’s LX1E series is also known as the Little Martin. While small, it is big on tone. The LX1E Ed Sheeran has the same Martin tone and it comes with Fishman Isys T electronics for when you need to turn it up. It also features the ‘+’ from his first album etched into the sapele top. Plus a portion of the sale of his LX1E will go to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. Now if you’re worried that you’re paying just for the name, fret not (pun). The LX1E Ed Sheeran won best in show upon its release at the 2013 summer NAMM.
To strum it like Sheeran, it’ll run you around $599. Learn more at the click.
