Shepard Fairey’s blue period

Shepard Fairey creates poster for Keys LA gig

Shepard Fairey Black Keys Concert Poster

Listening to Shepard Fairey describe creating the LA Forum gig poster, it’s great to see that he is a genuine fan of the band and of music. He recently created the Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary logo, which was originally created by John Pasche in 1971.

For the Black Keys LA Forum gig poster, Fairey riffs off the Turn Blue art created by Michael Carney, brother of Keys drummer Pat.

The piece is seriously cool. It’s a limited edition of 600 signed by Fairey. 250  will be sold at the show tonight with 350 more available on obeygiant.com between 10 and 12 PST today.
