From 1966 to 1971, San Francisco was an amazing scene. When Art Rocked is an exhibition, currently running at the San Francisco Airport, celebrating the psychedelic concert posters that were part of the awesomeness.
When we talk about The Summer of Love, San Francisco was heartbeat central, at least in the US. Live music was a huge part of it, thanks to promoters Bill Graham and Chet Helms.
Aritst inspired by Art Nouveau, Pop Art and advertising, not to mention a whole lot of weed and dollop of acid, created trippy piece after trippy piece. Ignoring art school 101, artists like Victor Moscoso created images that vibrated before a viewer’s eyes. Bob Dylan SJ-200 Autographed Collector’s Edition
Gibson has released not one but two signature Bob Dylan acoustic guitars. The guitars are said to have been made with a direct collaboration with Dylan himself.
We’ll start with the SJ-200 Autographed Collector’s Edition. Featured above, it is an exact replica of Zimmerman’s own customized SJ-200. Built from Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, the six string features a headstock with Dylan’s eye logo inlaid with mother-of-pearl. A true collector’s edition Gibson is releasing only 175 copies of the autographed acoustic.
The second release is the Bob Dylan SJ-200 Player’s Edition. This one is described as translating Bob’s SJ-200. The differences between the two guitars are many. Most notable, the Player’s Edition is made with maple and a spruce top. There’s also the addition of a pick up in the Player’s, which allows you to get amped up in an instance. This could upset the flock crowd all over again.
Both instruments are beautiful, but they’re not cheap.
The SJ-200 Players Edition will run you $4,999. A bargain compared to the SJ-200 Autographed Collector’s Edition which is priced at $9,999.
Prices that’ll have you serving somebody for quite a while.

Classic Vibe Stratocaster 50’s
Fender has been celebrating the 60th anniversary of it’s Stratocaster throughout 2014. A couple of weeks ago we featured our favourite of the 6 special editions, the 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster. It’s a beautiful guitar, but at $1500, it’s not for everyone. Fender’s little bro Squier offers a more approachable option in the Classic Vibe Stratocaster 50’s, which shouldn’t cost you much more than $550. PRS S2 Singlecut Standard
The S2 series is Paul Reed Smith’s more affordable line of American made guitars. Whether you consider a $1000 dollars and change affordable all depends on which side of the rock ‘n’ roll tracks you hail from.
The recent adds to the series are three all-Mahogany, neck and body, guitars. The mahogany offers warm, woody tones. Other notable features are PRS pickups, push/pull tone controls which give you a true single coil tone coupled with the power and pop of humbucker tones.
Of the three new models, the featured S2 Singlecut Standard offers the most versatility with volume and tone controls for each pick up along with a 3-way toggle switch. The other two newbies to the S2 line up are the S2 Standard 24 and the S2 Standard 22.

Dee Dee Ramone Exhibition Primieres in NYC
After having his work shown at La Luz De Jesus and Shepard Fairey’s Subliminal Projects Galleries in LA, a Dee Dee Ramone Exhibition will be held at the Hotel Chelsea Storefront Gallery in New York City from December 10th to January 1st. It’s a celebration the late Ramone, born Douglas Glen Colvin, who passed on June 5, 2002. The Ramones where unique for more reasons than 2-minute songs on an LP, but a stand out is that Dee Dee was the band’s bassist and primary song writer. Less know than his riffs are Dee Dee’s other artistic skills. The exhibition sets out to celebrate them all.
