Martin Ed Sheeran X Signature Edition

A while back we featured the LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition produced in conjunction with  Ed’s first release + (plus). The limited edition acoustic is a great guitar and the appeal of the rising star saw it sell out. Martin Guitars obviously realizes the potential and they have followed up with the Ed Sheeran X Signature Edition.

Two signature guitars for an artist so young could be viewed as pop star pandering. (Look it up, it’s a thing.) Sheeran’s star has risen faster than a seventeen year-old’s hard on. Ed plays pop with a capital P. His ability to blend acoustic with hip hop has lead to major crossover appeal.  It has also lead to more than a few kids picking up an acoustic. If a Martin Ed Sheeran guitar will see even more kids strumming, then cool. It is a Martin after all.

The X is a Martin quality six-string that comes pimped out with the signature X of Ed’s latest album. The logo is inlayed in loa on the fretboard and headstock. Like Ed’s last Martin this acoustic comes amp ready with Fishman Isys T electronics.

Ask any prepubescent teenage girl and she’ll tell you that Ed’s heart is in the right place. And she’d be right. 100% of the singer’s royalties for the Martin LX1E and the X Signature Edition is being donated to the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Ed’s hometown charity.
