He was an inventor whose firsts helped define popular music recording which became to be known as Sound on Sound. You think The Beatles and George Martin were doing some trippy things in the 60s, well Les was overdubbing as early as 1945. Add to this being the first to use tape delay, phasing effects, overdubbing and multi-track recording.
