Gibson Explorer Blackout

The Gibson Explorer Blackout owes a lot to the men in black, aka metal heads.

In the late 50s, the groovy cats at Gibson were getting all Sci-Fi with their guitars. Created in 1958, the original Explorer was truly ahead of its time with its otherworldly silhouette. Due to a lack of like-minded space cadets the model was discontinued in 1963.

In 1976, thanks to the arrival of thrashers on planet rock, the guitar saw a second life and has been part of the Gibson universe ever since.

The badass Explorer Blackout knows who its friends are. Guys who like their music loud and their wardrobe darkly monochrome. Somehow The Edge fits into this equation, but we’re not sure how. Equipped with a pair of Dirty Finger pickups, the Explorer will make even the most reluctant of heads bang.
