Foo Fighters Concert Poster by Chris Shaw

This Foo Fighters concert poster is from a gig the band played at the Filmore back on July 26,1995. Twenty years later, Dave and the boys have kick off its Sonic Highways Tour in Chile as one of the biggest bands in rock. The show was last night. The ’95 Filmore gig was no doubt a more humble affair, but it must have been something. The Foos were never an unknown band. Rising from the sadness of Nivana, Grohl was already a monster drummer amongst musicians and fans alike. But to watch Grohl build from the ashes must have been amazing.

The gig poster for the show is by Chris Shaw a top artist of the Bill Graham Presents’ music scene. Shaw’s fusion of popular culture and politics began with creating flyers during the 1980s punk era. In the 90s he became very much in demand creating works for everyone from the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and to even KISS. Today Shaw’s work is collected by both rock and art enthusiasts.
