BRING THAT BEAT BACK
Gretsch reintroduces the Broadkaster series
You know that Gretsch drum sound. We can say that with a high degree of certainty, because Charlie Watts plays on a set of ’57 Gretsch.
In the 1950s, probably when Charlie was just learning to get his backbeat on, Gretsch drums where what everybody wanted. The plant in Brooklyn, NY produced some of the sweetest sounds around. Well, Gretsch is making that vintage beat new again with the reintroduction of its Broadkaster series.
Based on kits from the 50s, the new Broadkasters’ offer the nuances of sets built back in the day. The series offers 5 shell pack configurations and 2 hardware options. Purists can get the Vintage with 1950s inspired drum mufflers and floor tom leg brackets. The Standard offers modern details including heavy duty lugs and floor tom spurs.
