Today would have been Bob Marley’s 70th birthday. To celebrate the Marley camp is planning a year of events, releases and re-releases. Probably a re-re-re-release of The Legend is somewhere in the mix. Tonight there is live concert stream, Redemption Live, from Jamaica.

For an artist with the legacy of Marley there is not that much quality memorabilia out there. At least not that we’ve come across. There is a lot of stuff, eBay has and entire section dedicated to Marley, but again, not much of it is quality.

The Exodus Film poster is one of the finest and rarest (and frenchest) Bob Marley vintage posters you’re going to find. Exodus is arguably Marley’s greatest album and the tour behind it was supposed to be his conquering America moment. Days before the tour began he injured his foot playing soccer. The injury led to the tour being cut short and the performances at the Rainbow Room in London being it’s last. The foot injury also led to Marley being diagnosed with cancer, which would take his life 4 years later.

The Exodus film is a fantastic performance of an artist and band at the top of their game. Just listen to Exodus and you’ll hear that something special was going down. The film is the most complete and best performance video the world has seen. The Marley camp has announced the Easy Shanking in Boston ’78 live footage for February 17. Which we eagerly anticipate, but it’s fan footage and it’s not a complete show featuring just 7 songs.
