Mods and Rockers unite in Liam’s closet

Pretty Green Deansgate Parka

If you were a Mod back in the 1960s there was a good chance that you wore a parka. Green. With a Who logo sewed on. And you listened to Louie Louie by the Kingsmen on repeat. And repeat in the 60s was manual, you had to pick the needle up yourself and start over. We’re talking commitment. To hear Jurassic Steve (Original Mod) tell it, the parka was about utility more than fashion. Jurassic’s take on the jacket and the culture can be found on Mod & Rockers a short film on PrettyGreen.com. It’s part of the roll out of Pretty Green’s March of the Mods Collection.

Liam Gallagher’s fashion line has strong rock ‘n’ roll DNA. Perhaps never more than this season. The Deansgate Parka is part of a line inspired by the summer of ‘64 and the flash point when Mods and Rockers rioted on the beaches of Margate and Brighton, England. Nonpartisan, you can find style inspired by both side of the clash. You can even vote for the side you identify with most. Diabolical long hairs or hairdryer-riding pansies. Although they put it a little differently.
